Iran doc ‘Owsia’ grabs best doc award at US Trenton filmfest

Iranian documentary ‘Owsia’ has won award at Trenton Film Festival in US.

Iranian director Alireza Dehghan’s documentary ‘Owsia’ has won award at Trenton Film Festival in US.

Directed by Alireza Dehghan, the documentary won the Best Documentary Short award at the 2017 edition of the event.

‘Owsia’ tells the story of a 2500-year-old Aqueduct which goes to sullage during its 84 kms of journey.

A living UNESCO environmental heritage site is dying under Irresponsibility; wastewater pollution is poisoning pure and clear water during 84 kilometers of a current.

Trenton Film Festival screens new, cutting-edge film of various genres from around the world, offering filmmakers the opportunity to interact with audiences and connect with other filmmakers at various stages in their career.

It brings together filmmakers, film professionals, and area residents of all ages and cultural and socio-economic backgrounds to build a better understanding of filmmaking, to explore the issues and perspectives in a variety of films–from local to international–and to build an appreciation of the film arts.
